I’ve always known that the US gives money to other countries, while borrowing to subsidize our own deficit. This includes paying money to bring immigrants into the country and train them to kill our own citizens.
However, it has been brought to my attention that we also give $3 billion annually to Israel. This is not a loan. We give them $3 billion. And while a majority of that money is spent on US military weapons (ensuring that they’ll always have something with which to kill Palestinians, thereby continuing the pattern of unrest between these two countries that were wrongfully divided), think of this the next time you’re filling up at the gas pump at well over $3 dollars a gallon (or if you remember waiting in line during the 1973 oil crisis): The US guarantees Israel’s oil supply—even if it causes a US shortage.
That’s it. I’m moving to Canada.
